A Pink, Summertime, Historic Acres of Hershey Wedding | Anna + Darian

Admittedly, I had a hard time writing this little blurb. You see, I always start my wedding day blog posts out with a little bit of cute and relevant information about the couple. But how could I possibly write just a few sentences about MY FRIENDS?! You see, this wedding is so special to me. Anna is one of my dearest friends and Darian… well… I’m pretty lucky to call him a friend too! Pop over to their first engagement session blog post to read about my relationship with Anna (I’ll keep this brief so we can get to the good stuff - the wedding day pictures!!).

Shooting a wedding for a client turned friend is one thing.
Shooting a wedding for a friend turned client is a whole other.
To say I was a mix of excited and nervous going into their wedding day would be a huge understatement.

Caity of Cait Kramer Photography and I co-shot this wedding together. Normally we spend our weekends trading off second shooting for each other but for this one, we both shared the responsibilities of the lead photographer and then morphed into wedding guests halfway through the evening’s dancing time. Let me just pause for a second here and say… Anna and Darian, you are two lucky ducks for having wedding photographers as besties. Needless to say, Caity and I took WAY too many photos at this wedding and A+D will still be looking through their gallery on their 50th anniversary!

Anna knocked it out of the park with bringing her wedding day vision to life. Every aspect of the day was stunning and Caity and I were ooooohing and aaaahing at every turn. There were really thoughtful gift exchanges, perfectly personal parent dances and A+D’s puppers, Buddy and Baby joined them for the ceremony!

Anna and Darian are huge Penn Staters. It’s probably the most important thing that unites them (after being the best dog-parents of course!) and it’s how we all met. Penn State was the universal thread through nearly their entire wedding day and their relationship. It was only fitting that the reception was one huuuuuge party. To send them off at the end of the night, we circled up and Darian led us all in singing the Alma Mater which 100% made most of us cry.

I truly do love all of my clients and part of my business is really connecting with my couples on a deeper level but this year is something new for me. Capturing the legacies of the weddings of my close friends and then later this year, my cousin, is such a huge responsibility, joy and treasure. This blog post is like no other!

Anna and Darian,
I hope Greece is so beautiful and Darian, while you’re falling asleep early each night… I’ve been texting Anna some hilarious blooper photos of you. Your loss sleepy head. I love you both so much. It means the world that you would trust Caity and I to memorialize these huge milestones in your lives together. We hope that you’re still cherishing these images when you’re old, grey, still holding hands and still cheering on Penn State football. Wishing you more dogs, more Penn State wins and many years of love and laughter. The best is yet to be.
