I can’t believe it’s already April and I am just now doing my first wedding blog post for 2021! The last year has been so, so hard but I’m so thrilled that Jill + Clayton got to celebrate their love for each other over the weekend! Because of the pandemic, they really weren’t sure what their wedding day was going to look like but in the end, it was truly magical!

Weddings in 2021 are definitely still a bit… weird. I found myself chatting with guests about which brand of vaccine we’d all been grateful to receive, exchanging stories about vaccination appointments and reminiscing on (and cringing about) the days where we’d as wedding photographers, jump into the middle of a busy, indoor, sweaty, hot dance floor without thinking twice. It’s nice to be able to have face-to-face conversations filled with hope after a really hard year. I truly missed being able to document these hugely special days for my couples and if this is what the rest of my 2021 weddings will be like, I AM PUMPED.

Jill + Clayton shared their vows at Drumore Estate, easily one of the most accommodating and fantastic venues that I’ve worked at in a very long time. Not only did myself and my second photographer feel safe (they abided by state mandates for event size, masks were worn by all staff all day along with most guests when they weren’t eating or drinking and the bulk of the day was outside) but we loved working with all of their caring and friendly staff! Jill and Clayton couldn’t have chosen a better place to get married!

It’s hard to imagine, but there wasn’t even a single hiccup all day long. Jill’s teacher heart and personality definitely helped make the day flow perfectly. It was easy for their guests to relax, be present for the special moments and enjoy a bit of togetherness that we’ve all missed.

I’m so honored to have been trusted to capture Jill + Clayton’s memories! They are such a sweet, down-to-earth and fun-loving couple! The day was filled with so much laughter (you’ll see as you scroll) and I felt myself smiling my whole drive home.
