A Colorful, Boho, York City Wedding with a Private Ceremony | Hannah + Chase
I have been sitting, thinking, wondering what I could really say to do this day and this couple justice. Personally, this wedding was just what I needed, coming at a time that I really desired a shift in the types of weddings that I take on. It wasn’t traditional - there was no bouquet toss or bridesmaids. It was perfectly tailored to the personalities of the couple who it belonged to.
Hannah and Chase are… fabulous, fun, humble, kind, funny and gorgeous. Watching their interactions together is half hilarious and half sickeningly sweet. I ask my couples to describe their relationship to me in a few words on a questionnaire before their wedding and Chase initially said “funky, fresh and sultry” before they circled back and settled on empathetic, calming and easy.
They have A LOT of people who are very important to them but also wanted to keep their wedding day intimate and calm. So they shared their vows in a private ceremony, officiated by their dear friend in front of a mural that Hannah adores, and then joined a bunch of their friends and family for an outdoor party with lots of mingling (despite some rain). There was charcuterie, oysters, food trucks and banana pudding. YEP. Doesn’t that just sound PERFECT?
Nearly every vendor is local to York (including myself now!!!), a city that means a lot to both of them. I loved how they incorporated small, local businesses into every aspect of their day - you can see their full vendor list at the bottom of this blog post.
Hannah and Chase, thank you for trusting me to capture your day that was perfectly YOU. It was everything that is good in this world. Your friends and family love you so dearly and we all wish you the very, very best as you embark into this new adventure of marriage!
