Morrison-Clark Inn Washington D.C. Wedding | Kate + Andrew

The Northeast got a brief taste of summer temperatures this weekend in perfect time for Kate and Andrew to tie the knot! As I'm reflecting on their day and preparing this blog post it is back to being cold, blustery and rainy. Truly every facet of their day was exceptionally beautiful - especially the weather.

Kate and Andrew are so sweet and one of those couples that are very balanced - best fit for each other. They are loving cat parents (their sweet cake-topper was inspired by their cats, Gracie and Vinny) and devoted to their families and their faith.

I especially loved all of the meaningful details scattered throughout their wedding day. Kate's engagement ring is a vintage early-30s Art Deco cocktail ring - a true joy to photograph! The ceremony was held at Wesley Theological Seminary where Kate earned her M.A. (2013) and M.Div (2017) degrees. Their incredible friend, Reverend Cara Rockhill, officiated the ceremony which was welcoming, meaningful and filled with love.

When I met Kate, she was wearing time turner earrings and I loved connecting with her on even the level of our literary and movie obsession of Harry Potter. If you're obsessed with or even remotely fond of Harry Potter you'll know that the overarching theme throughout the entire, epic story is the power of love. Appropriate for a wedding ceremony, eh? Rev. Rockhill, also a Harry Potter lover, weaved that symbolism and some fantastic quotes into her homily for Kate and Andrew.

Their day culminated at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn, originally the home of one of DC's wealthiest merchants which has stood since 1864. Enjoy some of my favorites from Kate and Andrew's wedding day!
