Mama & Me Mini Session Style Guide
SPRING 2024
“Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!’ ”
It’s a time for all things colorful, fun prints, elevated casual outfits and letting your personalities shine through your clothing choices. At Savannah Smith Photography, we LIVE for warmer temperatures and all the color that spring brings.
The backdrop for these mini sessions will be mainly those bright early-spring greens. I would recommend avoiding black, dark grey and anything beyond a tiny pop of red. Incorporating patterns and different textures are always welcomed and encouraged. I’m going to guide and encourage mamas to play, kneel, dance with, hold and lift their children so please make sure whatever outfit you choose is one that you can move comfortably in.
Shoes will be visible in many poses so consider skipping the well-worn sneakers, Crocs, play shoes and work boots
and instead choosing a boat shoe, dress shoe, sandal or clean tennis shoe.
Other Important Tips:
Consider your undergarments carefully. Before your session, be sure to check all outfits with the undergarments you plan to wear.
For littles in dresses, white, neutral or coordinating undershorts are highly recommended. I cannot photoshop out diapers!
Children’s clothes should fit well. That’s the best way to ensure that they look polished and timeless. This isn’t a time for sizing up - all that extra fabric can swallow up even older kids.
Please do not wear graphic t-shirts (characters or words) or clothing with large visible logos.
