Jonathan Club Downtown Los Angeles Engagement Photographer | Samantha + Evan
In January, I had the immense joy and privilege of capturing this special engagement session. Evan is my husband’s first cousin and his fiancée, Samantha, is a smart and badass woman who I am so glad is joining the family officially. Yes, yes - I am aware that it is July but blogging took a back seat to raising two toddlers and focusing on getting quality images back to my clients quickly. I also wanted Samantha and Evan to sit with their images for as long as they wanted to enjoy them privately.
So without any further ado…
To be trusted to capture this session and make Samantha’s vision reality was huge to me. She wanted to balance my bright and colorful style with her desire to have a darker, direct flash look following the old money images trend. I flew in and we did a warm-up session at the Venice Canals that evening before our marathon session the next day. I didn’t expect to leave the Venice area with so many keeper images from just a short session where they were getting to know my style behind the camera! But those are some of my favorites from the session.
The following morning we aimed to capture both some Los Angeles skyline views at Vista Hermosa Natural Park before going over to the Jonathan Club and when I tell you I was screeaaaammminnngg at how they absolutely slayed the serious poses. And then we finished our session at In-N-Out because… duh.
As much as I didn’t want to leave LA, I wanted to get my hands on these images as fast as possible and they were almost totally edited by the time my plane landed back on the East Coast. Sam and Evan, thank you endlessly for letting me capture this sweet moment in your lives and Kyle and I can’t wait to celebrate you in Mexico in the spring!
