An Elegant Emerald Winter Wedding at The Bond | Elizabeth + Steven

This blog post is about Elizabeth and Steven but in order to put in to context why it means so, so much to me, I want to share a few personal thoughts first! So, hang in there with me.

I have known Elizabeth for well over 15 years but just simply as my dearest high school friend’s little sister, Beth. Getting to know Elizabeth as a passionate, successful adult through working with her as one of my brides has been such a gift. She is SO funny, thoughtful and cool as a cucumber. Which makes Steve her perfect match in my humble, outsider opinion. He is the Star Wars to her Harry Potter and the sarcasm to her candidness. Working with them has been such a dream and to see their vision come together this past weekend was just an absolute pleasure. I’m honored to have been able to document this day for them but it means even more to me because this was my official end to full-scale weddings.

When I got in my car to leave their reception, there was such a tinge of sadness to end this season of my life. I’m still taking full-scale weddings here and there for very special couples (friends, family, couples who have worked with me before, etc.) but the days of double-header weekends, summers full of massive celebrations and 14 hour long wedding days are mostly behind me as I focus on raising my babies and capturing parenthood portraiture and small-scale weddings. WHAT A HELL OF A WAY TO END THOUGH GUYS. This wedding was insanely beautiful.

I can’t even tell you my favorite detail because I have so many - from the overwhelming sense of family and love that everyone exuded to Elizabeth’s great-grandparents being woven throughout her bridal details. I couldn’t help but beam with delight when I saw the Rebel Alliance Starbird detail on their custom cake topper (complete with Snape’s sentiment of everlasting, unconditional love from Harry Potter) and Steve’s “I love you. I know.” cufflinks!

Their vendor team made the day seamless and stunning all the way through to the “Love Story” mosh pit for their last song.

Elizabeth and Steven are honeymooning in France now as they make new memories as wife and husband but I’ll still be reliving this day for a very, very long time.
